In The Community

Community involvement is an important cornerstone of the Preferred Sourcing culture. The company is dedicated to making a positive impact in the communities in which associates live and work. Many of Preferred Sourcing associates volunteer their time to help organizations in their communities.

Huricane Katrina

Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Preferred Sourcing pledged to match employee contributions benefiting Hurricane Katrina victims. The overwhelming response of the associates contributed to a combined monetary donation of $10,000 to the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund to support humanitarian relief and recovery efforts.

Blood Drive

In April 2007, Preferred Sourcing headquarters and the Indiana Blood Center (IBC) partnered in hosting the company’s first blood drive. The company’s personnel, family and friends along several neighboring businesses participated in the drive, producing 35 units of blood for Indiana hospitals and medical facilities. IBC is a non-profit community service organization licensed by the FDA and the Indiana State Department of Health, and accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks. IBC relies on the generosity of its donors to supply more than 500 units of blood each day to 46 Indiana hospitals. Preferred Sourcing will continue partnering with IBC to host drives twice a year.

Mutt Strut

Preferred Sourcing’s corporate team joined over 3,000 people and 1,000 pets from as far as Illinois, Michigan and Tennessee to walk the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway at the 4th Annual Mutt Strut event. Over $277,000 was raised to benefit the Humane Society of Indianapolis.

Holiday Tree

Each year Preferred Sourcing helps in providing a Christmas for children and families in the Indianapolis area that might not otherwise have had anything. Employees donate toys, books, clothing, gift cards, and essential items that will help families and children. Through the generosity of Preferred Sourcing employees, families can share the joy of the holidays, giving their children hope for the future.

Golf Outing

Each year Preferred Sourcing's Marysville, Ohio facility sponsors a golf outing with all proceeds benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation. All customers are invited to attend and can purchase $5 mulligans. Trophies are given away for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, closest to pin, longest drive, longest putt and highest score. In 2007, approximately 120 golfers attended. Over the past four years, Preferred Sourcing has raised $1176 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
